PSM option poll

with 2 comments

On version 0.0.17 there’s a new option called “independent status message” turned on by default which overrides Pidgin’s status message, and creates an account action “Set personal message” that works exactly like “Set friendly name”.

It’s a little controversial, and Devid doesn’t like the name, so here’s a poll to see what you guys think should be the name of the option. If you have another suggestion, please say so.

git and changelogs

without comments

I completely agree with Daniel Stone’s comment on git and changelogs.

This is what I call a ChangeLog; it’s cool. I see the brief comments, and I can see the actual diff. I see the tags (version), date, author… what else do you need?

/me hugs gitweb.

Voting Machines Hacked

without comments

We already know closed software is insecure by nature. It’s good to have these kind of analysis.

Here a is a study on the US voting machines, and how the can be made fraudulent, all in an undetected way, and even spread a virus to other voting machines.

I think with OpenSource software it would have been a little more difficult.
